7 Feb
Summary
- A one-year-old boy suffered from a persistent illness for over a month and a half.
- Doctors initially misdiagnosed his condition as pneumonia.
- A small LED bulb was surgically removed from the child's windpipe.

A young boy in Gujarat's Vadodara district experienced a prolonged illness, initially believed to be pneumonia. For over six weeks, the one-year-old suffered from a high fever and chronic cough, baffling doctors at multiple private hospitals. His family sought further medical attention at a government hospital in Gotri.
Upon examination, the ENT department at GMERS Hospital, Gotri, suspected a foreign object in the child's windpipe. An X-ray confirmed this suspicion, prompting a bronchoscopy. During the procedure, doctors discovered and successfully removed a one-centimeter LED bulb that had become lodged. This foreign body had caused skin to grow over it due to the extended period it remained undiagnosed. The child has since recovered fully and was expected to be discharged.
