Six years after the pandemic began, Telford & Wrekin Council is observing the Covid-19 Day of Reflection. As part of the observance, Southwater One in Telford will be illuminated with yellow lighting on Sunday.
A remembrance garden will also be opened near Southwater One, providing a tranquil setting for residents to pay their respects. This space is intended for collective remembrance and solidarity.
Council data indicates that between April 2020 and January 2022, the county recorded 69,453 confirmed Covid-19 cases, resulting in 703 fatalities. The council spokesperson emphasized remembering those lost and honoring community resilience.
