Monsoon Alert: Telangana Gears Up Against Seasonal Diseases

The Health Minister of Telangana convened a meeting on Monday to assess the state's readiness for monsoon-related seasonal diseases. Director of Public Health Ravinder Naik presented district-wise data on illnesses such as dengue, malaria, chikungunya, and typhoid.

During the recent meeting, the minister emphasized that public health is a top priority. He stressed the importance of preventing disease outbreaks, urging the Health Department to focus on proactive measures.

All government hospitals across Telangana must maintain sufficient stocks of medicines, diagnostic kits, ORS packets, and platelets. Additionally, adequate medical personnel and emergency services are to be ensured.

Prompt testing and immediate treatment are mandated for all patients exhibiting symptoms of seasonal illnesses. The minister also called for enhanced mosquito control coordination with municipal and panchayat raj departments.

High-risk locations like villages, urban areas, schools, hostels, and construction sites require special attention. Health workers will conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns to educate residents on preventive measures against seasonal diseases.
