Telangana Bolsters Hospitals with Major Equipment Upgrades

The Telangana government is accelerating the deployment of advanced infrastructure and equipment in its public hospitals and medical institutions. Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha announced that 485 new ventilators, valued at ₹58 crore, are being procured and will be installed in various hospitals by the end of February.

Further enhancing medical capabilities, the state is investing ₹192 crore in eight new MRI machines for installation in six different hospitals by the financial year's end. Additionally, eight CT machines worth ₹60 crore and a LINAC machine for cancer treatment are also under procurement, alongside upgrades to the neurosurgery department at NIMS.

With 38,000 beds available in government institutions, the focus is on prioritizing necessary equipment. The government is also working to reduce emergency response times to under 10 minutes and expanding dialysis services by sanctioning 73 new centers, in addition to the existing 105.
