A British teenager is fighting for his life after developing an aggressive brain tumour during a family holiday. Jude Cudmore, 17, was initially hospitalized in Turkey for headaches and sickness, with his parents suspecting a migraine or food poisoning.
Within hours, doctors discovered a large, aggressive brain tumour. Jude suffered seizures, and his condition became critical, with doctors warning he might not survive the night. His family has been left with a substantial bill, including £5,000 for his initial hospital stay.
The family discovered their travel insurance had expired, leaving them facing a £39,500 cost for an air ambulance to fly Jude home for specialist NHS treatment. The tumour's cysts have affected his vision, and he remains extremely sleepy.
A UK charity has pledged £19,500 towards the flight, and a GoFundMe appeal has been launched by a family friend to cover the remaining costs. Jude spent his 17th birthday undergoing hospital scans instead of celebrating.
