Teen's Final iPhone Note Reveals Tragic Fear

A 14-year-old girl, Leah Bishop from Lydd-on-Sea, Kent, tragically died after taking an overdose of prescription medication. Found in her bedroom, her death was ruled a suicide by the coroner, despite police expressing doubts about her intention to end her life.

An inquest revealed Leah had struggled with mental health, experiencing anxiety and isolation at school, leading to her being home-schooled. Her final message on her iPhone to a friend conveyed fear, stating, "I've done something bad. I'm scared," and she mentioned waking up in a hospital.

Leah's mother remembered her daughter as a creative, loving, and kind individual with a passion for art, anime, music, and skateboarding. The coroner acknowledged the school's potential role but found it unlikely to have significantly contributed to her death, concluding that Leah ingested the medication with the intention of ending her life.
