Concerns have been raised about the transmission of diseases such as HIV and syphilis through reused needles, and potential skin conditions like keloid or psoriasis developing at tattoo sites.

While tattoo artists assert adherence to strict safety standards, including sterilization and disposable materials, there's a call for mandatory autoclave machines for sterilizing metal parts.
