McCain Foods USA has issued a recall for nearly 40,000 cases of tater tots due to the potential presence of clear, hard plastic fragments. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified the recall as Class II, signaling that consumption could lead to temporary or medically reversible health issues. The affected frozen tater tots were distributed to retailers in 26 states across the United States.
The recall specifically impacts 21,256 cases of Ore-Ida Tater Tots and 17,597 cases of Sysco Imperial Potato Tater Barrels. While no illnesses have been reported thus far, consumers are strongly urged to either discard the recalled products or return them to their point of purchase. This situation follows a trend of foreign material-related recalls in recent months.
