Massive Health Outreach: 1.6 Million Served by State Camps

The Nalam Kaakum Stalin health camps have successfully concluded their operations across Tamil Nadu, benefiting a total of 1,616,517 individuals through 1,076 organized events. Health Minister Ma. Subramanian announced that the initiative garnered a significant positive response throughout the state.

In the Tiruchi district specifically, 35 camps were conducted, serving 54,454 people, including 19,807 men and 34,647 women. Among those who attended, 2,563 individuals were referred to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital for advanced treatment. Additionally, 4,825 expectant mothers received beneficial services at these camps.

Comprehensive diagnostic services were offered, including ECHO tests for 4,245 people, ECGs for 33,005, and X-rays for 1,430. The camps also facilitated treatment under the health insurance scheme for 993 individuals and distributed Unique Disability Identity (UDID) cards to 1,526 persons with disabilities. Specialized treatments were provided across various departments, with cardiology seeing the highest number of patients at 6,077.
