Delhi on Alert: Swine Flu Concerns Rise, Health Meeting Held

As swine flu, or H1N1 infection, spreads rapidly, Delhi's health authorities are enhancing preparedness. Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda recently reviewed the national influenza surveillance and the capital's readiness to manage seasonal influenza and vector-borne diseases. Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh, attending the meeting, confirmed no shortage of hospital resources like beds, doctors, or medicines in the city.
Active monitoring of influenza-like illnesses (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) is underway through the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme. Regular updates are provided to senior officials, and advisories have been issued to medical officers for screening and reporting. Technical guidelines for patient management, treatment, and home care have also been disseminated to healthcare facilities.
