SVP Hospital Under Fire: Woman Dies Amid Negligence Claims
6 Mar
Summary
- Woman died during treatment at SVP Hospital.
- Daughter claims lack of proper care and experimentation.
- Hospital authorities ordered an inquiry into the incident.

An inquiry has been ordered into allegations of medical negligence at SVP Hospital following the death of Gira Dipakkumar Soni during treatment. Soni was admitted on February 21 with asthma and cough, but her condition worsened, leading to her transfer to the ICU three days before her death. A preliminary report by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) indicated multiple organ failure as the cause of death, though a postmortem was declined by the family.
The deceased's daughter, Kshitisha Soni, posted a video on social media alleging that her mother did not receive proper treatment and accused the hospital of experimenting on patients. She also claimed difficulty in obtaining her mother's case papers. Following these accusations, the AMC formed a three-member committee to investigate. Opposition leaders staged a protest at the hospital on Thursday, demanding swift action against those responsible for the alleged negligence.
