Supplements Overdose Leaves Woman in Agony
10 May
Summary
- Woman's skin condition worsened significantly after taking many supplements.
- Overdosing on vitamins led to painful, weeping, and swollen skin.
- Unregulated online advice from influencers caused serious health issues.

A teaching assistant from Pontypridd, Wales, Charlotte Foster, 36, suffered severe skin reactions after accidentally overdosing on vitamins. Influenced by social media content, she took around 10 different supplements daily while using Mounjaro for weight loss, costing £50 a month.
By February 2025, this led to painful, dry, and weeping skin flare-ups. Medical tests confirmed a vitamin overdose, causing her to rely on steroid creams and cancel work and social engagements.
Experts warn that fat-soluble vitamins can become toxic if taken excessively. Foster also developed kidney stones and a hiatus hernia, leading to the cessation of her Mounjaro treatment. She now advises others to consult professionals rather than trust online influencers.
