The second-year business student at Liverpool John Moores University was attending a themed party when she took MDMA. She subsequently suffered an apparent seizure and was transported to the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
Her condition worsened, necessitating a transfer to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on November 5, 2025. Tragically, she died on November 7, 2025, before a planned liver transplant could take place. An inquest determined her cause of death as multi-organ failure, acute liver failure, and drug intoxication.
Friends described Olivia as a vibrant and beloved individual, known for her humor and love of dressing up. Hundreds attended a memorial walk, and a fundraiser in her name garnered significant donations. Olivia was a registered organ donor, and her lungs and heart were successfully donated, saving the lives of two other individuals.
