Steroid Use Linked to Strongman's Tragic Death at 26
11 Feb
Summary
- A 26-year-old strongman died from an enlarged heart.
- Steroids and testosterone were used for his fitness regime.
- His partner performed CPR before paramedics arrived.

A 26-year-old strongman tragically passed away at his home in Barry, South Wales, last year. Bodhi Burgess King was using steroids and testosterone as part of his intense weight training regimen when he collapsed.
His partner discovered him experiencing a seizure in their bedroom in the early morning hours of February 10, 2025. She immediately initiated CPR and called emergency services. Paramedics arrived and attempted advanced life support, but sadly, Mr. King was pronounced dead at the scene.
An inquest revealed that Mr. King died from cardiomegaly, commonly known as an enlarged heart, with exogenous hormone use cited as a secondary cause of death. The assistant coroner recorded the conclusion as natural causes, acknowledging the individual's history of emotionally unstable personality disorder and his steroid use.
This incident follows the recent death of a popular health YouTuber and bodybuilder, Park Seung-hyun, aged 35, who died suddenly on February 1, 2026. Park, despite campaigning against steroid use, had previously admitted to his own drug use.
