Natasha Carayol, 40, suffered two debilitating strokes caused by high blood pressure. The first stroke in May 2022 felt like a "nuclear bomb" exploding in her head, leading to emergency brain surgery. She endured significant recovery, relearning to walk and regaining her speech.
This experience profoundly shifted her perspective, leading her to pursue a career as a DJ, a passion that aided her rehabilitation. Despite initial fears during a subsequent pregnancy in October 2024, she experienced a second stroke just five weeks after giving birth in June 2025.
Once again, high blood pressure was identified as the cause. Her recovery this time was more challenging, impacting her mobility and speech. Now, Natasha is dedicated to raising awareness for stroke prevention, urging others to monitor their blood pressure. She works with the Stroke Association to share her story and prevent similar tragedies.
