Bethesda Wellness is significantly expanding its healthcare offerings in southeast Manitoba with the development of a new campus. This initiative follows the acquisition of seven additional acres adjacent to its Stonebridge Wellness Centre property. The charity envisions this new space to include a hospice and facilities for end-of-life short-term care.
Furthermore, the Bethesda Foundation, the charity's fundraising arm, has demonstrated strong support for healthcare in the area. The foundation recently contributed $8 million towards the expansion of Steinbach's hospital. This expansion added three operating theatres, 15 new beds for medicine and palliative care, and laboratory services.
The expansion of the Bethesda Wellness campus is also attracting other healthcare providers, such as Eden Health Care Services, which specializes in mental health. This collaborative approach is expected to broaden the range of services available to the community, fostering a more integrated and accessible healthcare system.
