The state's first dedicated Pain Clinic has officially opened its doors at King George Hospital (KGH). Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav presided over the inauguration ceremony, marking a significant advancement in healthcare services for individuals experiencing chronic pain and pain associated with cancer.
The establishment of this vital clinic was significantly bolstered by a substantial donation of ₹1 crore. This contribution was made by the Andhra Medical College Alumni of North America (AMCANA), a gesture that Health Minister Yadav commended as highly commendable.
During the event, the minister emphasized the government's dedication to improving public health infrastructure. He highlighted plans to form a specialized committee focused on enhancing cancer care, which will include strengthening services in chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and pain management. The government's primary goal is to bolster state-run medical colleges and ensure access to quality healthcare for all, particularly the economically disadvantaged.
