The Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare has concluded the selection process for 630 vacancies in Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and government teaching hospitals. The final candidate list, prepared on March 19, 2026, is set to be released soon. A total of 4,984 MBBS graduates applied for these positions, which were advertised in September of the previous year.
Recruitment is scheduled to proceed via online counseling next week. Notably, approximately 60% of those selected are women, with 512 destined for medical officer roles in PHCs. The remaining vacancies include tutor positions. Minister Satya Kumar Yadav stated that this round, combined with a 2024 recruitment filling 280 posts, brings the total PHC positions filled by the NDA government to 910.
The Minister further announced that recruitment for 317 Assistant Professor posts will commence shortly to bolster teaching hospital staff. With the current hirings, the state anticipates having nearly no vacancies in PHCs, aligning with a continuous zero-vacancy policy.
