Summary
- Cancer children visited Srinagar's Tulip Garden as part of immunotherapy.
- The outing aimed to boost children's immunity and positivity.
- SKIMS plans to assess the impact for future holistic cancer care programs.

Hope blossomed for young cancer patients in Srinagar when they visited the picturesque Tulip Garden near Dal Lake. Around a dozen children, aged four to eighteen, were brought from Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) as part of a unique immunotherapy initiative.
The excursion was designed to bolster the children's immune systems, with doctors emphasizing the role of positivity in fighting the disease. Initially subdued, the children's moods transformed upon seeing the vibrant tulips, with many visibly relaxing and smiling.
SKIMS director M. Ashraf Ganie explained that this outing was a direct component of their immunotherapy, aiming to enhance the children's natural ability to combat cancer cells. The hospital meticulously planned the trip to avoid disrupting chemotherapy schedules, ensuring continuous medical supervision and arranging meals.
This pioneering effort by SKIMS, which involved a month of preparation, will be formally assessed through feedback questionnaires. The findings will guide future decisions on organizing similar programs as part of a comprehensive approach to paediatric cancer care.
