Worst Mouse Infestation Ever Seen Closes Store

Premier Express Nice 'n' Fresh on Victoria Road North, Southsea, has been forcibly closed by authorities due to a severe mouse infestation. Health inspectors from Portsmouth's environmental health team described the situation as one of the worst they have ever witnessed in a retail establishment.

During their inspection last Thursday, officers found evidence of widespread rodent activity, including gnawed food packaging and mice droppings contaminating shelves where sweets and other food items were displayed. This discovery posed an imminent risk to public health, as mice are known carriers of diseases like salmonella and campylobacter.

The shop was subsequently issued a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Order, mandating its immediate closure. The business, operated by Pinal and Mehul Ltd, is prohibited from trading until the infestation is fully resolved and public health is no longer at risk. Council officials emphasized their desire to work with businesses to prevent such situations from escalating.
