A 37-year-old singer, Dean, has died eight weeks after receiving a devastating Stage Four oesophageal cancer diagnosis. Despite repeatedly consulting his GP about severe discomfort, his symptoms were allegedly misdiagnosed as heartburn. The illness progressed significantly, and Dean was admitted to A&E on December 9, where masses were found in his liver.
A subsequent endoscopy on December 10 confirmed malignant oesophageal cancer that had metastasised. He faced a difficult wait for an oncologist appointment and began chemotherapy on January 7, 2026, though only 50% could be administered due to liver damage.
