Last week, on World Diabetes Day 2025, SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani, Chennai, held a special awareness programme to promote early screening and lifestyle modification for diabetes prevention. The chief guest, Chennai Collector Rashmi Siddharth Zagade, IAS, launched a comprehensive diabetes screening package priced at just ₹999, which covers tests worth over ₹4,000. This special offer is valid for one month.
During the event, the Collector also released a patient-awareness booklet on diabetes mellitus and visited stalls set up to educate visitors on healthy diets, medication adherence, and technology-based monitoring. Continuous glucose monitoring devices were distributed free of cost to patients with brittle diabetes. The Collector stressed the importance of adopting balanced meals, practicing yoga and regular exercise, and undergoing periodic health check-ups to prevent diabetes-related complications.
S.V. Raju, Vice-President of SIMS Hospital, along with senior consultants, highlighted the hospital's efforts to maintain glycaemic control and outlined the various health packages launched to mark World Diabetes Day 2025.
