Sheffield Mind's Wellbeing Centre has inaugurated a new support hub specifically for individuals aged 16 and over who are on the autism or ADHD spectrum. This Autism and ADHD Support Hub (AASH), located at Sharrow Lane, began operations on June 1st, as of 2026. It aims to provide comprehensive support covering the diagnostic journey, employment prospects, and strategies for managing mental health, recognizing the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals.
The AASH initiative stems from research highlighting increased mental health concerns among autistic individuals. It will offer courses co-designed with service users, focusing on confidence building and social skills. The service will employ peer support workers who possess personal or familial lived experience with neurodivergence, fostering a supportive community. The hub will operate 25 hours weekly, offering both in-person and online sessions, including drop-in and pre-booked appointments.
