Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) has bolstered its super-speciality services with the appointment of 87 new faculty members. This strategic recruitment drive directly addresses longstanding staff shortages and aims to meet the growing demand for specialized medical care.
The expansion is expected to significantly enhance patient services, particularly in paediatric super-speciality care at the Saloni Heart Centre. Experts anticipate improved treatment for congenital heart diseases, valve disorders, and complex cardiac surgeries in children, alongside enhanced paediatric nephrology, gastroenterology, and urology services.
Departments such as anaesthesiology, microbiology, and radiodiagnosis will receive a substantial number of new faculty. This move is poised to increase specialist consultation capacity, reduce waiting times for patients, and elevate treatment facilities across various high-demand disciplines.
Director Radha Krishna Dhiman stated the recruitment supports both patient care and academic activities. The enhancements will benefit patients from Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states seeking advanced medical treatments.
