Olympic Medalist Scott Hamilton Hosts Epic Charity Concert with Rock Legends

In November 2025, Olympic figure skating legend Scott Hamilton is preparing to host his annual charity concert and fundraiser, which he says will be the most "epic" one yet. The 67-year-old Hamilton, who has personally battled cancer multiple times, is bringing together a supergroup of lead singers from popular 80s rock bands like Loverboy, Chicago, Journey, Kansas, and REO Speedwagon to perform at the event on November 23rd in Nashville.

Hamilton, who was first diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1997 and has faced several brain tumor diagnoses since then, is using the concert to raise money for his CARES Foundation. The organization partners with cancer research centers that focus on developing treatments that can effectively fight cancer without causing lasting harm to patients, such as immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and proton therapy.

"For so long, chemotherapy, traditional radiation, all the surgeries that have traditionally been used, they create harm in the patient," Hamilton explains. "We like to partner with like-minded organizations to elevate specific cancer research that will treat the cancer and spare the patient harm."

With his own personal experience as motivation, Hamilton is determined to contribute to a future where no one dies of cancer. "Everything I've learned, everything I've seen, everything I've witnessed, everything that I believe to be true says that there'll be a time, probably in my lifetime, where no one dies of cancer," he says.
