Modern Family Star's Health Battle: Two Transplants, One Life

Actress Sarah Hyland, famous for her role as Haley Dunphy in Modern Family, has lived with a severe health condition since birth. She was diagnosed with kidney dysplasia, a congenital condition where kidneys do not develop properly in the womb, leading to kidney failure.

By age 21, Hyland's kidney function was critically low, necessitating a transplant. In 2012, her father donated a kidney, but her body later rejected it. She then endured dialysis while awaiting another match.

In 2017, her younger brother donated a kidney, providing a successful transplant. Hyland considers this her 'third chance at life' and continues to manage her health, including endometriosis, while advocating for organ donation and awareness of chronic illnesses.
