Salmonella Outbreak Triggers Recall of Popular Supplements
16 Nov
Summary
- 3 people hospitalized in latest salmonella outbreak
- Organic moringa leaf powder linked to illnesses
- 4 products recalled due to contaminated powder

As of November 16th, 2025, a nationwide salmonella outbreak has prompted the recall of several dietary supplements. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has linked the outbreak to a single lot of organic moringa leaf powder supplied by Vallon Farmdirect in Jodhpur, India.
Four products have been affected by the recalled powder, including organic moringa leaf powder and supergreens mixes sold by Food To Live and Africa Imports. In total, 11 illnesses and 3 hospitalizations have been reported across 7 states, including Florida, Kansas, and New York.
According to the FDA, the contaminated powder was used in the manufacturing of the recalled supplements, which were sold directly through the brands' websites as well as on third-party e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Walmart. The agency is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate the outbreak and ensure all affected products are removed from the market.
Salmonella infections can cause severe symptoms like diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps, and are especially dangerous for young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. The FDA is urging consumers to avoid the recalled products and seek medical attention if they experience any symptoms.
