This initiative marks a significant advancement, with procedures like Robotic Cataract Surgery and CLEAR surgery now being performed. These surgeries are noted for being bladeless, bloodless, precise, and cost-effective, leading to higher patient recovery rates.
The AI-enabled Z8 Zymer machine, utilizing lasers for operation and stitching, minimizes human intervention. This technology, previously limited to major metros, is now accessible in Belagavi and will be extended to smaller towns via a mobile unit offering discounted services. The center aims to encourage spectacle removal through these laser surgeries, particularly beneficial for individuals aged under 45 and above 55.
Director Dr. Shilpa Kodkany highlighted the near-zero error margin of the AI-enabled equipment. Addressing concerns about rising eye ailments in children due to excessive mobile use, the hospital also offers therapies and counseling for young patients.
