The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned 1,085 new posts at the Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS). This significant approval aims to bolster the institute's healthcare services and enhance patient care across multiple departments.
The approved positions encompass 102 academic posts, 863 regular non-teaching staff, and 72 outsourced roles, alongside 48 positions for an associated department. This expansion is crucial for the operationalization of the advanced neuroscience centre and the new 100-bed critical care medicine department.
Staffing enhancements will benefit critical areas including neurosurgery, neurology, cardiology, medical oncology, urology, and nephrology. The critical care department, located opposite the Mother and Child Referral Hospital, is approximately 70% complete and slated for finalization by February 2027.
Recruitment orders were issued on September 2, with a directive to prioritize filling vacant posts while adhering to reservation norms. The new hires will ensure specialized medical attention for critically ill patients with advanced equipment.
