Richard Trice, president of Glenbeigh Hospital and Outpatient Centers, has been selected to chair the 2026 Ashtabula County Heart Walk. This significant role within the American Heart Association's community-facing initiative is deeply personal for Trice, whose family has been affected by heart disease.
The Heart Walk, scheduled for October 3rd at SPIRE Academy, focuses on funding lifesaving research and empowering individuals with CPR skills. The American Heart Association emphasizes that immediate bystander CPR can double or triple survival chances for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims.
Trice's involvement began in 1997, driven by his father's battle with heart disease and his father-in-law's quadruple bypass surgery. He aims to rally county executives and organizations to support the walk and build a community of lifesavers.
The 2025 Heart Walk, led by ARMC CEO Leonard Stepp, successfully raised $200,000. Trice is building on this success, noting a strong increase in corporate sponsorships and new fundraising initiatives for the upcoming event, aiming to inspire community support for healthier hearts.
