Canadians have a critical deadline of August 27 to file a claim for a share of a $4.75 million class-action settlement. This settlement pertains to the antipsychotic drug Rexulti.
The lawsuit, authorized nationally in the year prior to November, was approved by Quebec Superior Court. It covers individuals prescribed Rexulti since February 2017 who later experienced compulsive behaviours or impulse-control disorders, such as gambling or binge-eating.
Lawyers for the affected parties have indicated that the agreement does not involve any admission of liability. Individuals eligible to claim could receive sums ranging from approximately $6,500 for less severe cases up to more than $102,000 for those with more significant impacts.
