The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) recently disclosed the hygiene scores for 39 food businesses, including restaurants, cafes, and schools, following inspections conducted in June. These scores presented a wide spectrum, with ratings spanning from a low of 18% to a high of 94%, underscoring considerable disparities in food safety practices.
While five establishments, such as 10 Pounder Pizzeria and PVR Inox, achieved a top score of 94%, others like Royal Spice Restaurant received the lowest rating of 18%. The CMC's food safety team evaluated hygiene standards, food handling, pest control, storage, and compliance with FSSAI norms. Improvement Notices were issued to businesses with deficiencies.
Several popular establishments, including KFC and Inox, received mid-range scores. The inspections also involved collecting food samples and initiating enforcement actions where necessary, emphasizing the CMC's commitment to public health and food safety across the city.
