1 Aug
Summary
- Undeclared egg allergen in Red's All Natural Steak burritos.
- Product shipped to Costco distribution centers in IL, MI, MN.
- No recall issued as affected items are no longer available.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert on July 29, 2026, for Red's All Natural Steak, Cilantro and Lime Burritos. The alert concerns misbranding and an undeclared egg allergen in specific production lots. The affected burritos were produced on June 19, 2026, and shipped to Costco distribution centers in Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota.
The issue came to light when a consumer discovered a different product containing egg within a carton of the steak burritos, indicating an incorrect label. While the product is labeled to contain milk and wheat, it was found to contain egg, which was not declared. FSIS urges consumers with egg allergies not to consume these products.
As the affected items are no longer available for purchase, a recall was not requested. Consumers are advised to discard or return the product. While there are no confirmed adverse reactions, anyone concerned should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS can be reached for food safety questions via their Meat and Poultry Hotline.
