Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin's fiancée, Carolina Matovac, has returned to Buffalo after a harrowing medical ordeal. She was honored at a recent Sabres game, marking her first public appearance since experiencing heart failure during a summer vacation in France. Matovac spent seven months recovering in her native Sweden following a life-saving heart transplant.
In September, Dahlin shared that Matovac's condition was critical, requiring CPR multiple times. She spent weeks on life support before receiving a new heart. Matovac later disclosed that she was pregnant at the time of the health crisis, with the unborn child playing a role in the early detection of the problem. Tragically, the fetus did not survive the medical emergency.
