The Rajasthan government has sanctioned Rs 139.7 crore to elevate Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) in Jaipur into the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). This initiative aims to create a premier multispeciality medical institute.
The allocated funds include Rs 16.6 crore for essential civil and electrical upgrades at the current RUHS Hospital. These improvements will involve structural retrofitting and modernizing facilities.
The majority of the budget, Rs 123 crore, is designated for acquiring state-of-the-art medical equipment. This advanced technology will bolster super-speciality departments such as cardiology, neurology, and neurosurgery.
Specialized equipment will enhance capabilities in cardiology with an advanced cath lab, neurosurgery with specialized operative tools, and urology with 3D laparoscopic systems. Other departments like nephrology, gastroenterology, neurology, and plastic surgery will also receive significant upgrades.
These enhancements will provide state-of-the-art care for complex medical conditions, including heart diseases, neurological disorders, kidney failure, and trauma cases.
