Baby Goats Test Positive for Rabies After Music Video Shoot

Three goats tested positive for the virus by August 29 and were euthanized. At least 20 individuals involved in the video production are considered to have had potential exposure. Farm Adventures, the source of the goats, stated the animals were too young for vaccinations and showed no signs of illness after the skunk encounter.
State health alerts indicated the goats could have been infectious between July 28 and August 27, having made appearances in at least seven North Carolina counties. Public appearances included events in Statesville, Lexington, and Mocksville, as well as private gatherings. Anyone who had contact with the baby goats during this exposure window is advised to contact their local health department.
