In Nalasar village, Banaskantha, a labourer reportedly succumbed to rabies approximately three months after a dog bite went untreated. The man, a father of three, began exhibiting severe symptoms including barking, running on all fours, and extreme aggression, causing widespread panic.
His family forcibly brought him to Palanpur Civil Trauma Centre, where his violent behaviour intensified, leading hospital staff to sedate and restrain him. Authorities were alerted, and the forest department assisted in safely managing the patient, who is currently receiving IV fluids and undergoing blood tests. Doctors emphasized the near-certain fatality of rabies once symptoms appear, urging immediate medical attention for any dog bite to prevent the deadly disease.
