Punjab's Health Scheme Aids 2 Lakh Families Cashless

Launched in January 2026, the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana has successfully provided cashless medical treatment to over two lakh families across Punjab. This initiative ensures that all residents of Punjab can access healthcare services, from newborn care to major surgeries and chronic illness management, without upfront financial worry. The scheme offers an annual coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh per family.
Officials report that more than Rs 300 crore has been allocated for these treatments. This includes approximately 40,000 surgeries and a significant number of treatments for common ailments like dialysis and cancer. More than 68,000 kidney patients have benefited from dialysis, costing over Rs 14 crore, while cancer treatments have exceeded Rs 35 crore for over 14,000 patients.
