Punjab Boosts Healthcare: 138 New Posts Approved

The Punjab cabinet has given the green light to enhance healthcare services through the creation of 138 new positions. This initiative includes vital roles across various medical and administrative cadres.
The sub-divisional hospital in Chamkaur Sahib will see the revival of 33 posts, encompassing medical officers in specialized fields, nursing staff, and support personnel, marking an upgrade from its previous status.
Furthermore, 119 new posts will be established at the sub-divisional hospital in Dhuri and its newly constructed MCH Centre, alongside 19 posts for the civil surgeon's office in Malerkotla.
In a move to address dental care needs, the government approved the filling of 80 vacant medical officer (dental) positions within the health and family welfare department, with many of these vacancies existing for over a year.
