Pune's Hajj health formalities were completed in February, a month earlier than the usual April schedule, following directives from the state health ministry. This accelerated timeline also incorporated new mandatory requirements, such as digital data entry and linking with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID. Civic officials reported that 1,197 pilgrims received oral polio and meningococcal vaccines. Additionally, 234 high-risk individuals were administered influenza shots.
Vaccination sessions were conducted at Sonawane Hospital, while medical screenings took place at Kamla Nehru Hospital. Urgent arrangements were made to implement the revised schedule, with observers from the Union Health Ministry expressing satisfaction with the Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) efforts. Approximately 1,378 pilgrims from the Pune district were eligible for vaccination and health checks this year.
