In a significant move for adolescent girls' well-being, the Rotary Club of Bibvewadi Pune has announced the "Asmita Dignity Kits" initiative. On Daughters' Day, the club committed to distributing 30,000 such kits across 200 schools in Pune. This effort is backed by GTPL Hathway Limited and was unveiled at the Asmita Symposium 2026.
Each Asmita Dignity Kit is thoughtfully assembled to support girls with crucial aspects of their daily lives. Contents include sanitary pads, sanitiser, bandages, a whistle, nutritional items like a peanut bar and ORS sachet, safety pins, and educational materials.
The initiative, originating with a focus on menstrual health awareness, has evolved to encompass broader aspects of dignity, safety, and skill development. Asmita 2026 represents a return to schools, emphasizing the provision of essential resources and fostering confidence and preparedness among adolescent girls.
