Recall Alert: Potentially Deadly Personal Care Products Sold at Major Retailers

Florida-based Plantimex has recalled 50,000 units of its Mamisan Pain Relieving Topical Ointment, sold nationwide at Target and Walmart between April 2024 and October 2025. This product contains lidocaine, an anesthetic that poses a risk of heart stoppage if ingested. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) mandated child-resistant packaging for products containing lidocaine due to the danger of accidental consumption by children.

Similarly, Feel the Beard Minoxidil Beard Growth Oil, sold on Amazon from April to September 2025, has also been recalled. This China-made product contains minoxidil, which can cause a fatal drop in blood pressure if consumed. The CPSC requires minoxidil products to be sold in child-resistant packaging to prevent poisoning in young children.

In both recalls, the packaging was identified as not child-resistant, posing a significant risk of serious injury or death from poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children. Customers are advised to keep these products out of reach of children and contact the respective manufacturers for child-resistant lids or safe disposal and replacement instructions. No injuries or fatalities have been reported in relation to these recalls.
