PMCH Launches Dedicated Cancer Department in April
26 Mar
Summary
- PMCH will launch a new cancer department on April 6.
- The department will offer outpatient services, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.
- It aims to consolidate specialist expertise and patient services.

Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) is set to introduce a specialized cancer department on April 6. This new facility will centralize various cancer treatment services, including daily outpatient consultations, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, all within the hospital's central unit.
The establishment of this department is a strategic move to better utilize the skills of four cancer specialists appointed two years ago. Previously, these oncologists were dispersed across different departments. The new wing will initially feature 25 beds, with plans for expansion based on future needs, and will ensure a more streamlined and efficient patient journey.
With the outpatient department operating six days a week, PMCH aims to provide consistent and accessible care. This development is considered a significant enhancement to cancer services at one of Bihar's largest government hospitals, offering a more organized approach to diagnosis and treatment.
