- Private sector offers higher pay, causing recruitment issues.
- Extended doctors serve at multiple hospitals and key facilities.

To maintain essential healthcare services, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's standing committee recently approved a one-year contract extension for 230 specialist doctors. This decision addresses the ongoing challenge of filling specialist positions, as private sector salaries are more attractive to medical practitioners.
The extension ensures that critical healthcare services remain uninterrupted while recruitment efforts for permanent positions are underway. The appointed doctors hold postgraduate degrees, guaranteeing specialized care in departments like gynecology, pediatrics, and surgery.
These specialists will continue their work at facilities including Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital and newly operational hospitals in Bhosari, Thergaon, and other areas. They provide services across various essential departments and units like the ICU and NICU.
