A pilot's life was irrevocably altered when he woke to his left arm jerking uncontrollably. Initially dismissing it as a minor issue, his condition rapidly worsened, leading to seizures and unconsciousness. Doctors discovered a massive tumor, approximately 8 x 9 x 10 centimeters, necessitating the removal of nearly a third of his right frontal-parietal lobe.
Recovering from the extensive brain surgery proved challenging, requiring weeks of intensive physical therapy. Although he regained mobility, the resulting epilepsy ended his career as a pilot due to the loss of his aviation medical clearance. Despite these significant life changes, he adapted and maintained a hopeful outlook.
In December 2025, he learned his cancer had returned and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. He continues to share his annual brain scans on Reddit, aiming to provide hope and connection for others battling brain cancer, offering a personal perspective beyond statistics.
