Blood Cancer Patient Dies by Suicide at KEM Hospital

A 25-year-old man, Aravind Lohar, died by suicide on Friday while a patient at KEM Hospital in Mumbai. Lohar had been undergoing treatment for acute leukemia in the Hematology Department for the past month. Hospital officials noted that his condition had been improving, and he was expected to be discharged soon. He was last seen by fellow patients watching a cricket match the evening prior.
Tragically, Lohar was found to have hanged himself from a metal pipe just outside the patient ward. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM, and hospital administration immediately alerted the police. The Bhoiwada Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) for the incident. The Dean of KEM Hospital stated that there were no prior indications of psychological distress in the patient.
