On September 29, an FIR was filed against six illegal healthcare establishments on Sadar Hospital Road in Daltonganj. These centres, including New Pamma Health Clinic and Apolo Diagnostic, are accused of operating without mandatory registration under the Jharkhand Clinical Establishments Act.
Further action was taken on Wednesday when Rahat Hospital in Bishrampur was sealed. The FIR against its management alleges operation of critical services like labour rooms and ultrasound without requisite specialists and technicians, with equipment seized during the raid.
This operation represents one of the most substantial crackdowns on illegal healthcare facilities in Palamu recently, with local residents also calling for action against touts diverting patients.
