3 May
Summary
- Avinash Solanki, a CKD patient, donated his liver posthumously.
- His family honored his pledge, enabling a transplant for a 66-year-old woman.
- Solanki had registered as both a kidney transplant recipient and donor.

In a profound act of generosity, Avinash Solanki, a 33-year-old man battling chronic kidney disease (CKD), has given a new lease on life to another individual through organ donation. Solanki, who had been on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, tragically passed away after suffering a severe brain hemorrhage.
His family, demonstrating immense courage and compassion, honored his registered wish to be an organ donor. Following his declaration of brain death on April 28, they consented to donate his organs. A 66-year-old woman received Solanki's liver in a successful transplant, marking a significant second chance for her.
The Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre (ZTCC) facilitated the organ allocation according to national guidelines. Hospital staff created an honour corridor to pay tribute to Solanki's selfless act. His legacy continues through his wife, a young son, brothers, and parents.
