Muslim Family's Organ Donation Inspires During Ramadan

In an inspiring display of altruism during the holy month of Ramadan, the family of Jebunben, a 51-year-old woman, has donated her organs. Declared brain-dead following an accident near Keshod, Jebunben's donation at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital included two kidneys and a liver.
The Chavda family's gesture is being recognized as a profound example of 'Khidmat-e-Khalq,' or service to humanity. This significant donation marks the ninth organ donation from the Muslim community at the hospital since 2020.
Adding to the remarkable events, the hospital performed a second organ donation within a 14-hour period. The family of a 25-year-old woman, also declared brain-dead, contributed two kidneys and a liver for transplantation.
Collectively, these recent donations have provided six patients with life-saving organs. Since 2020, Ahmedabad Civil Hospital has facilitated 231 cadaver organ donations, resulting in 995 organs and tissues being gifted to 742 recipients.
