- Journey motivated by grandfather's body donation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Vipul Anekant has embarked on a remarkable 4,500-kilometer solo bicycle journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. This ambitious trip, which began on January 16th, is dedicated to raising awareness about the critical importance of organ, eye, and body donation. Anekant, originally from Rajasthan, aims to break stereotypes about police officers being distant and instead connect with the public on a humanitarian mission.
The initiative, titled 'Dehdaan-Angdaan-Netradaan Awareness Solo Cycling Yatra', seeks to motivate individuals to consider body donation for medical education and organ donation for patients. Anekant's personal inspiration stems from his grandfather's decision to donate his body to Junagadh Medical College eight years prior, an act that deeply impacted him. As of March 15, 2026, he is heading towards Srinagar, expecting to arrive soon and rejoin his duty on April 20, 2026, after this selfless endeavor covering thousands of kilometers with minimal luggage.
